WELCOME!

Human Dignity Retreat – we had seven youth participate – a lot of excellent discussion on many age-related issues our youth are learning to deal with, a lot of fun, and new friends. Watch for pictures!

PIZZA PLUS! - NEXT EVENT – FEBRUARY 12 (Sunday) at 6:00PM, the Senior High will meet at the church for pizza and a video. This is another chance to routinely get together, on perhaps a slower paced or more convenient day.

Senior High Retreat: February 17-19, 2012 Join other High School youth for an action-packed weekend at Lutherhill. Be challenged by God’s message of how we are to carry His light out into the world. Explore your faith life alongside your peers. Activities include: worship, fellowship, small group discussion, open mic night, ultimate frisbee tourney. Cost: $80 per person ($130 - $50 church subsidy) - Registration form is available HERE.

SUMMER - For 7th graders - Confirmation camp will be at Lutherhill June 24-29 (The registration form is attached) I have placed a $100 deposit for each slot, so please make the deposit check out to Lord of Life and return the registration form to me. We do have "camper-ship" funds - contact me if have an interest.

Also this Summer for 7th graders, we will be doing a 3-day mission trip in Houston during the week of July 8-11. We are planning to stay at Faith Lutheran in Bellaire and volunteer at Star of Hope. This will be a great experience - reserve the time!!

(ALMOST) the last call for SENIOR HI (including 8th graders) - next summer is the ELCA Gathering in New Orleans, from July 18-22. This happens every 3 years, and registrations will close when they reach 39,000 - that is 39,000 youth from across the country are expected to attend.

Also this Summer for 8th graders, we will be doing a 3-day mission trip in Houston during the week of July 11-14. We are planning to stay at Faith Lutheran in Bellaire and volunteer at The Youth Development Center. This will be a great experience - reserve the time!!

Junior High Ministry -
(7th & 8th Grade Confirmation)
Our confirmation ministry is a 2-year instruction of Lutheran beliefs of the faith. When a baby is baptized, parents promise to raise that child in a church community. When that child becomes older, he / she begins this term of instruction.

Teens are taught as a large group and then broken up into small groups with adult faith mentors as leaders. These adults make a 2-year commitment to see their small group through this time of instruction, thereby, creating a meaningful and lasting relationship with each teenager. At the end of the 2-years, the teen takes responsibility for his/her own faith journey and relationship with God through a ceremony called "Affirmation of Baptism."
Our 7th & 8th grade junior high ministry is a mix of learning, serving, and fellowship events.

Our regular weekly ministry happens during the school year on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm, as well as during Sunday School. In addition to our weekly ministry, retreats, summer mission trip, and other events are also offered.

Senior High Ministry
Our 9 - 12th grade ministry is also based on Bible studies, servant, and fellowship events. Our weekly Wednesday night ministry, Midweek Madness (MWM), is in full swing from 7:00 - 8:30 pm during the school year!! The activity changes week to week as our adult faith mentors provide meaningful opportunities to build relationships with our teens. Friends are always welcome to join us upstairs in the Senior High Room.

In addition to Wednesday nights, our Senior Highers participate in an annual mission trip in the summer, weekend retreats at our regional camp, and other events to promote Christian growth and learning.


Post-high school
is a new program we are launching, initially maintaining contact and communicating primarily by texting.If you have a college age youth, please provide us with their phone number and we will add them to our list.
