ACOLYTE/ACOLYTE ASSISTANT - An acolyte is a boy or girl in the 2nd through 8h grade. Acolytes assist with communion, pass out the children's bulletins during the service, and help with special services and baptisms. Usually an acolyte is scheduled to participate only once every two months. Training is provided. Judy Howard, Coordinator, 281-419-4354.
ALTAR GUILD - Altar Guild prepares and cleans up the altar for Holy Communion. They also assist during communion, change paraments and decorate the sanctuary for festivals. An Altar Guild member is part of a team and usually asked to serve every 4-6 weeks.Treva Allen, Coordinator, 936-597-7065.
BULLETIN FOLDERS - These volunteers work in teams of 3-6 and meet on Fridays to fold bulletins for worship. Usually asked to help every 4-6 weeks. Contact Kathy Greer, 281-367-7016.
COFFEE FELLOWSHIP - These volunteers set up for the fellowship hour by making coffee and putting out breakfast munchies prior to the early service, or are responsible for cleanup after the late service.
COMMUNION ASSISTANT - The Communion Assistant comes forward during communion to assist with the distribution of the bread and wine. Usually the volunteer is scheduled about once a month. John Converse, Coordinator, 281-292-4246.
DEACON - The Deacon assists the Pastor during the worship service by reading the lessons and the prayer of the day. A deacon also serves the common cup during Holy Communion. As a rule this person is scheduled once every six weeks or so. John Converse, Coordinator, 281-292-4246.
GREETERS - These volunteers greet members and guests outside the sanctuary doors and invite guests to sign the guest book. One or two people are scheduled for each service, and you are called upon about once every three months. Pat Holte, Coordinator, 936-273-5039.
LIFELINE FOLDER - These volunteers help every two weeks by folding the Lifeline to prepare it for mailing. Contact Kathy Greer, 281-367-7016.
NURSERY - These volunteers assist paid staff members in caring for children from newborn to age 5 during the worship services.
RETURN-A-VISIT - These volunteers work in teams of two or three to call upon those visitors from the past Sunday. At these brief visits they distribute church literature, offer church assistance, and extend an, invitation to return to Lord of Life. Volunteers usually are asked to visit after one Sunday every other month.
TRANSPORTATION - You would be available to pick up those individuals who need a ride to a church service on Sunday morning. Usually you would volunteer for a month at a time. The pickup time, etc. is coordinated with the individual needing your assistance. Nancy Steiner, 281-298-9101.
